KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 17, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request Board to Approve a Resolution to declare county <br />equipment surplus to County needs and sale that property <br />to Chelan County. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Solid Waste is constructing a new lower county <br />transfer station facility. As part of the new transfer station facility, we have purchased <br />new used oil tanks, making our current oil tanks surplus to our needs. Chelan County <br />expressed interest in purchasing our tanks if they were ever available. <br /> <br /> RCW 36.34.020 and RCW 39.33.020 exempt intergovernmental sales of personal property <br />valued at less than $50,000 from surplus property public notice and hearing requirements. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Solid Waste Department, and Prosecutors Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request Boards approval of resolution to declare county <br />equipment surplus and to approve sale to Chelan County. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return copy of Resolution <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Doug Laurent, Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator <br />
