KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5th ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 2:30 PM January 12, 2026 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice -Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith, and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br />Others: Chad Bala, Jeremy Johnston, Jessica Miller, Gail Weyand, <br />Community Development Services, Stephanie Hartung, Chief Civil <br />Deputy, and (0) zero members of the public. <br />At 2:30 pm Chair Wright opened the Community Development <br />Services Study Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />Kittitas County 2026 Periodic Comprehensive Plan Update next 6- <br />month schedule briefing. <br />CDS Director Chad Bala presented the staff report and the 6- <br />month tentative schedule for the Kimley-Horn 2026 Periodic <br />Comprehensive Plan Update. Director Bala stated we finished the <br />lst year, and staff broke all the elements down into small <br />portions. There was a 30-day comment period. CDS Director Bala <br />tentatively mentioned having a joint meeting with the Planning <br />Commission and the Board of County Commissioners in February. <br />CDS Director Bala said Jeremy Johnston, Jamey Ayling, and our <br />consultants are doing a great job. <br />Short -Term Rental committee & Draft regulation update. <br />CDS Director Chad Bala presented the staff report and gave an <br />update on the short-term rental committee. The committee <br />approved a draft set of development regulations. CDS Director <br />Bala stated the draft regulations have been submitted to legal <br />for review.
