Kittitas County <br />Public Health Department <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />February 3, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves a Resolution to fund Kittitas County Public <br />Schools through the Kittitas County Mental Health Tax to support mental health services and <br />programs in schools. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Board of County Commissioners have allocated 1/10th of 1% funds to Kittitas County <br />Schools knowing schools play a vital role in supporting students’ mental health needs. The board <br />recognizes the importance of investing in resources within our public education system to better <br />serve the needs of our students. Funds distributed is based on the algorithm attached to the <br />resolution. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County Prosecutors: Reviewed and approved 01/14/26. <br />Kittitas County Auditors: Reviewed and approved 01/15/26. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves a Resolution to fund Kittitas County Public <br />Schools through the Kittitas County Mental Health Tax to support mental health services and <br />programs in schools. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />N/A <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Kasey Knutson
