BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026-_______ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 925 <br />INDUSTRIAL WAY ELLENSBURG, WA, 98926, PARCEL 078533, SURPLUS TO <br />COUNTY NEEDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Solid Waste owns the real property located at 925 Industrial <br />Way, Ellensburg, WA 98926, parcel No. 078533 (“the property”); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: In February 2026, Solid Waste will be moving to a new facility and will no <br />longer have a need to own or occupy the property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners agree with the recommendation of <br />the Facilities Director to declare this property as surplus to County needs; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The City of Ellensburg is interested in purchasing the property from Kittitas <br />County pursuant to Kittitas County Code (“KCC”) 2.81.090 (2); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Pursuant to KCC 2.81.090 (2), the Board of County Commissioners may <br />sell County property to another governmental agency by negotiation, upon <br />such terms as may be agreed upon and for such consideration as may be <br />deemed adequate by the board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The property was appraised at $460,000, which the Board of County <br />Commissioners represent is a reasonable and adequate price to sell the <br />property "as-is" for; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: A public hearing will be held on February 3, 2026, to determine whether <br />selling the property to the City is in the best interest of the County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Subject to final approval by the Board of County Commissioners at the <br />public hearing scheduled for February 3, 2026, the City and the County <br />tentatively agree upon a purchase price of $460,000. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Kittitas County Board of <br />Commissioners finds that the property located at 925 Industrial Way, Ellensburg, WA <br />98926, parcel No. 078533 is surplus to the County’s needs. <br />
