Working closely with the Uranium Producers of America to <br />promote domestic mining, I see the Administration's efforts to open up federal <br />lands and to reform onerous environmental regulations, including NEPA, to be <br />very encouraging not only for mining but for re-opening our National Forests to <br />sound active management. The repeal of the Clinton-era Roadless rule is but <br />one significant policy change which will encourage economic growth in <br />Washington state and in Nationa-l Forests covering some 59 million acres. <br />In the midst of all this I have been fortunate to be able to form a personal <br />relationship with David Copley, Deputy National Security Advisor and Director <br />of the President's Energr Dominance Council. Together, we are working to <br />rework or eliminate Clinton, Obama and Biden Antiquities Act abuses in the <br />form of the Grand Staircase Escalante, Bears Ears, the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah <br />Kukveni Grand Canyon National Monuments and others...a11 of which <br />harmfully impact the economies of the rural west as well as impacting the <br />national security of this nation. <br />Additionally, I am working closely with Karen Budd-Fa-len who serves as <br />Associate Deputy Secretary of the Interior and Adam Suess, a former Sinclair <br />Oil executive who serves in a key position for the public lands west as the <br />Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management at the <br />Department of the Interior. <br />I have opened up a solid relationship with Ned Mamula, who awaits Senate <br />Confirmation as President Trump's Director of the U.S. Geological Survey <br />(USGS). Ned is advising the Trump White House to make the boundary
