PROCLAMATION <br />"Waglon Stoneburg-Schafer Dag" <br />December 5, 2025 <br />WIAA 28 Cross Countrg State Champion <br />WHEREAS: Waylon Stoneburg-Schafer is a lOth grade student at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School and is a leader <br />among his Cross Country team; and <br />WHEREAS:Waylon had a very successful Cross Country season, including winning the Boys Varsity EWAC <br />League Championship and the District 5 2BllB Championship, culminating in his victory at the <br />2025 WIAA State XC Championships on Saturday November 8,2025, at the Sun Willows Golf <br />Course, where he finished with an impressive time of 15:40.8; and <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />Waylon is the first individual 28 State Boys Cross Country Champion in Cle Elum-Roslyn school <br />history and he's also the first athlete in history of their school to receive an invite to the NXR NW <br />Regional Championship race; and <br />Waylon should be recognized for his hard work and dedication to academics in the classroom as <br />well as his passion and commitment to the sport of Cross County; all while representing his <br />teammates, family, school and the citizens of Kittitas County; <br />NOW, THBRBFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners respectfully requests that the <br />citizens of Kittitas County join them in celebrating and honoring Waylon Stoneburg-Schafer as the WIAA 2E} <br />Cross Country State Champion and hereby declares Friday December 5,2025, as "Waylon Stoneburg-Schafer Day" <br />in Kittitas County. <br />ADOPTED this 2nd day of December 2025. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Laura Osiadacz, Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Vice-Chairman <br />ATTEST:Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
