RESOLUTION <br /> <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-________ <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THE WASHINGTON TRAFFIC <br />SAFETY COMMISSION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for <br />public agencies to cooperate by providing services and facilities for mutual advantage; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) and Kittitas <br />County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) have the ability and desire to enter into such a cooperative <br />agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the WTSC has and will provide overtime funding to law enforcement <br />agencies to conduct high visibility enforcement (HVE) traffic safety emphasis patrols and <br />related activities as outlined in the agreement in support of Target Zero priorities and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, that funding facilitates the goals and duties of the Kittitas County <br />Sheriff’s Office in improving the safety of the motoring public by providing these emphasis <br />patrols while reducing the fiscal impact on the County, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Interlocal Agreement between <br />Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission for high <br />visibility emphasis patrols is approved and shall be filed in a manner consistent with RCW <br />39.34.040. <br /> ADOPTED this day of 2025. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Chair <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Vice-Chair <br /> <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />_______________________ <br />☐ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />☐ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz
