BOARD OF COT]NTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COT]NTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF'WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - <br />AWARDING THB CONTRACT FOR THE HI.]NTZINGER ROAD SAFETY <br />TMPROVEMENTS - prrASE 1 (CRp 318-23) AND AUTHORTZE THE PUBLTC WORrG <br />DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME <br />WHEREAS: The call for sealed bids supporting the Huntzinger Road Safety Improvements - <br />Phase 1 was authorizedby the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners on July <br />15,2025; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works solicited bids in accordance with RCW <br />36.77 .020 Contract Procedures; and <br />WHEREAS: Sealed bids were received and opened on August 7,2025, at l0:00 am; and <br />WIIERBAS: There were five (5) responsive bids received for review; and <br />WHBREAS: The lowest responsive bid was from Petersen Brothers Inc. in the amount of <br />$1,382,410.93; and <br />WHEREAS: The Public Works Director recommends the lowest responsive bid be accepted; <br />and <br />NOW' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners finds it in <br />the best interest of the County to award the Contract for the Huntzinger Road <br />Safety Improvements - Phase 1 to Petersen Brothers Inc; and <br />BE IT FLIRTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Director is authorized to sign contract <br />documents for said project. <br />DATED on this Znd day of September 2025, at Ellensburg, Washington <br />BOARD OF COLINTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COLINTY, WASHINGTON <br />Chairman <br />Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Jez <br />col <br />Fts <br />SE"AL <br />Attest: <br />n Deputy Clerk of.the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Commissioner
