2025-07-22 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS’ CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 1:30 P.M. JULY 22, 2025 <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Cory Wright and Commissioner <br />Brett Wachsmith. Excused: Chairman Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and Amy McGuffin, <br />Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, Chief Executive Officer. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING CHAMBER/ADO UDPATE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:30 p.m. Vice-Chairman Cory Wright opened a Special Meeting to <br />receive a quarterly update from the Kittitas County Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br /> <br />Amy McGuffin, Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, Chief Executive <br />Officer, reviewed how the film industry is doing well in Kittitas <br />County and was recently featured in a magazine. She reviewed the <br />benefits of production companies coming into rural areas to film. <br /> <br />Ms. McGuffin said her Board asked her to see what the County’s <br />vision was for the Executive Director who would be reporting to COG, <br />and if they were aligned. Vice-Chairman Wright said it was <br />essentially for accountability and unification. She provided an <br />update on the Thorp Mill and working on the recreation plan for the <br />20 acres they will be taking over. She requested input from the <br />Board on this year’s State of Community and the upcoming 250th <br />Anniversary of America. Vice-Chairman asked if there was any funding <br />for the anniversary celebration and Ms. McGuffin said she was <br />unaware of any funding opportunities. She offered to research some <br />templates from other States in how they are celebrating it. <br />Commissioner Wachsmith felt it was important to do something to <br />recognize the 250th Anniversary and offered to help in any way he <br />could. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 2:36 p.m. <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> Julie Kjorsvik Cory Wright Vice-Chairman <br />
