PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />“Colton Magruder Day” <br />June 20, 2025 <br />WIAA 2A Track & Field State Champion <br />100m & 200m <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Colton Magruder is a recent graduate from the Ellensburg High School Class of 2025 and has <br />served as an encouraging and positive leader amongst the Ellensburg High School Track & Field <br />team; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: After an injury prevented Colton from sprinting in 2024, he returned to compete in the 2025 Track <br />& Field season at new level; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Upon his return to Track & Field in 2025, Colton had an extremely successful season where he <br />remained undefeated in both the 100m and 200m races, and ran a 10.49 in the100m during the <br />regular season which resulted in the second fastest time in the Yakima Valley History; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: On Saturday May 31, 2025, at the WIAA 2A Track & Field State Championships at Mount Tahoma <br />Stadium in Tacoma, Washington, Colton received two State Championship Titles including the <br />100m race with a time of 10.71 and the 200m race with a time of 21.60; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Colton should be recognized for his hard work and dedication to academics in the classroom as <br />well as his passion and commitment to the sport of Track & Field; all while representing his <br />teammates, family, Ellensburg High School and the citizens of Kittitas County; <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Colton will be attending Central Washington University where he will be a member of the Wildcat <br />Football team, and we wish him continued success in the next step of his academic and athletic <br />career; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners would like to request that the <br />citizens of Kittitas County join them in celebrating and honoring Colton Magruder as a two-time State Champion in <br />the WIAA 2A Track & Field 100m and 200m races; and declare June 20, 2025, as “Colton Magruder Day” in <br />Kittitas County. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 17th day of June 2025. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
