KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 3, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair's signature <br />on County Road Administration Board Rural Arterial Program Project <br />Agreement, supporting Hungry Junction Road Improvements — <br />Amendment No. 2 <br />BACKGROUND: Improvements to Hungry Junction Road appear on the adopted six - <br />year transportation plan. On May 14, 2025, the County Road <br />Administration Board (CRAB) noticed Public Works of an increase in <br />Rural Arterial Trust Account (RATA) funding award through the <br />Rural Arterial Program (RAP). The increase brings the total RATA <br />funding to $3,631,500 consistent with Public Works original request. <br />The grant supports improvement to Hungry Junction Road including <br />pavement replacement, reconstruction of vertical curves and safety <br />improvements from mile point 0.00 to mile point 1.74. Funding will <br />be used to continue the design of the improvements and support the <br />construction of the project. <br />If approved, CRAB will send an electronic agreement for signature. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Chair's signature on CRAB <br />RAP Project Agreement for Construction Proposal. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; CRAB RAP Project Agreement for Construction Proposal <br />Amendment No. 2 Draft <br />LEAD STAFF: Cameron Curtis, County Engineer <br />
