KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: May 20, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Public <br />Works Water Resource Manager to accept funding from the <br />Washington State Department of Ecology and sign funding <br />agreement No. WRYBIP-2325-KiCPWD-00072. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works, the Kittitas Reclamation <br />District, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife <br />and the Yakama Nation requested $740,000 in funding <br />from the Department of Ecology for Springwood Ranch <br />land management and planning. This grant agreement will <br />help offset interim operational costs incurred by Kittitas <br />County and the other Springwood Ranch landowners and <br />support planning needs for future uses. There is no match <br />requirement for the grant. <br />Kittitas County Public Works, the Kittitas Reclamation <br />District, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife <br />and the Yakama Nation are also preparing interlocal <br />agreements to collaborate implement the scope of work and <br />assign costs and re-imbursement association with the grant. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Public Works <br />Water Resource Manager to sign and execute the aid <br />application. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; <br />LEAD STAFF: Arden Thomas <br />Public Works Water Resource Manager <br />
