MONDAY <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />1:30 PM <br />May 12, 2025 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice Chairman Cory <br />Wright, and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Arden Thomas, Sally Kraft, Public Works; <br />Stephanie Hartung, Prosecuting Attorney's Office. <br />At 1:30 PM Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />NO CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />DOMESTIC AND MUNICIPAL WATER RIGHTS NEEDS ASSESSMENT GRANT <br />Arden Thomas requested direction regarding the Yakima River Basin <br />Integrated Water Resource Management Plan ("Integrated Plan"). The <br />Integrated Plan was created to meet the water supply needs of fish <br />and wildlife, farmers during dry years, and growing communities. A <br />Municipal Subgroup, led by the County's Water Resource Manager, has <br />been established and has put together a work plan to conduct a water <br />rights needs assessment and use these results to help identify <br />practical steps the Integrated Plan can take to better meet the water <br />needs of local communities. Costs will be covered by a $150,000 grant <br />from the Department of Ecology.
