KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE AND MAINTENANCE MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 2:00 PM A ri18, 2025 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz (Absent), Vice- Chairman Cory <br />Wright, and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith <br />Others: Patti Stacey, Lisa Lawrence and Amy Cziske (out at 2:30 p.m.) <br />Call to Order at 2:00 p.m. <br />Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit) None <br />Discussion on Credit Card service provider change: Amy gave the Board an update on the <br />history of credit card processing in the Treasurer's office and the integration of other <br />departments in the County with the idea of getting everyone that accepts credit cards on the same <br />system. She informed the Board that converting to Point and Pay provides better reporting and <br />better integration with other programs the County departments use. <br />Discussion was held on the State Statue and what the fees for Solid Waste would look like, <br />including the number of customers that would be affected by the change to a flat fee of $2.00 per <br />credit card transaction, resulting in a 20% increase to approximately 12,000 customers. <br />Further discussion was held on Paradigms agreement with Point and Pay and scheduling a <br />meeting with them to discuss how the fee structure for credit cards will work. <br />Lower County Transfer Station Update: Patti informed the Board that the project is going <br />well. That the change order for Streetlights came in at $40,000 vs original $100,000 and that the <br />structural steel for the MRW Facility should start going up next week. <br />Ryegrass Update: Patti informed the Board that the new well is being installed. Discussion was <br />held on HB 1154, including Ecology's authority and that the bill changed stating they must give <br />30 days' notice before imposing a fine. <br />A brief discussion was held on land application and adding additional fields. <br />Jail Project Update: Patti informed the Board of the pre -construction meeting and the actual <br />start date of April 28th starting with the exterior. <br />Other Business — No Action to be taken <br />Discussion was held on the meeting that Commissioner Wright and Patti had with the University. <br />Patti informed the Board that they are scheduling a tour of the Psychology building to evaluate <br />the available space. <br />2025-04-08 MINUTES 1 <br />
