KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: April 15, 2025
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution for the 2025 Distressed
County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement
Program Agreement with Central Washington
University
BACKGROUND: The Conference of Governments (COG) has been
.working diligently on a path to develop and become
more engaged in economic development for Kittitas
County. As a result of this work, COG has partnered
with Central Washington University for the development
of a Community Economic Development Strategy
(CEDS) in collaboration with Yakima County. Central
Washington University has graciously donated time and
resources to this effort, however, there are some areas
that require compensation. This agreement allows for
that compensation and Yakima County is covering
additional costs as well. This agreement will allow COG
to begin moving forward on the project as outlined in the
statement of work attached to the agreement.
INTERACTION:
Based on the motion approved by the Conference of
Governments, Public Works has prepared the 2025
Distressed County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure
Improvement Program Agreement with Central
Washington University in the amount of $50,305.00.
This funding was available on January 1, 2025.
Public Works; Central Washington University
RECOMMENDATION: Approve & Sign the Resolution and the 2025 Distressed
County Sales and Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement
Program Agreement with Central Washington
University
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; 2025 Distressed County Sales and Use Tax
Infrastructure Improvement Program Agreement
LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson
Director of Public Works
