Kittitas County <br />Solid Waste <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />3/4/2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Board’s approval and chair's signature on Change Order No. 3 <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On September 3, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution to award the Lower <br />County Transfer Station bid to Belsaas and Smith Construction, Inc. <br /> <br />We have completed the review of the following Change Order Proposals incorporated into Change Order <br />No. 3: <br />COP #05: Electrical vault downsizing. <br />COP #06: Blink charger upgrade. <br />COP #07: Feeder conduit size reduction. <br />COP #08: Credit for redundant switch gear. <br />COP #11: Additional insulation and siding at the transfer station tunnel and push wall. <br />COP #14: Upsizing the compost service hydrants and irrigation lines <br />COP #18: Scale model change. <br />COP #19: Mixer pump deletion. <br /> <br />Change order No. 3 results in a net reduction in contract cost of $16,287.33 before Washington State Sales <br />Tax <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Belsaas and Smith Construction, Inc. <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste <br />SCS Engineers <br />Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend Board approval and Chair's signature on Change Order Number 3 with Belsaas and Smith <br />Construction, Inc. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Return a signed copy of Change Order No. 3 <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Casey McFarlane <br />
