KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 4, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Kittitas <br />County Public Works BuyBoard National Purchasing <br />Cooperative Membership and Authorize the Public Works <br />Director to execute said Interlocal Participation Agreement <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works (Public Works) has interest <br />in joining the BuyBoard National Purchasing Cooperative <br />(BuyBoard) to expand procurement possibilities for the <br />department. BuyBoard is a cooperative that is formed by <br />government entities to streamline procurement processes <br />for public schools, municipalities, and other government <br />entities. Membership to said Purchasing Cooperative is <br />free. <br />After discussion with the Kittitas County Auditor's Office, <br />it was agreed that Public Works would secure its own <br />membership and possibly expand to other departments in <br />the future. Additionally, the Kittitas County Prosecuting <br />Attorney's Office reviewed the required Interlocal <br />Participation Agreement and finds that it meets the <br />requirement of RCW 39.34. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's <br />Office; Kittitas County Auditor's Office <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing Kittitas County Public <br />Works BuyBoard National Purchasing Cooperative <br />Membership and Authorize the Public Works Director to <br />execute said Interlocal Participation Agreement <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Interlocal Participation Agreement <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
