KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: January 21, 2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge Amendment FFY23 HSGP <br />(Homeland Security Grant Program) Agreement E24-135. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Original Request to Acknowledge the FFY23 Homeland <br />Security Grant Program (HSGP) was approved on January 2, 2024. The purpose of the <br />FFY23 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) is to fund state, local, territorial, and <br />tribal governments to prevent, protect against, and respond to terrorist attacks, and <br />prepare the nation for threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the security of the <br />United States. <br /> <br />This grant has been amended to increase the amount from $43,643 to $102,843 and <br />lengthen the amount of time we can spend the funds from 1/31/2026 to 7/31/2026. We <br />are also purchasing night vision goggles with a portion of these increased funds for the <br />following other Counties: <br /> Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office has reviewed and approved <br />the FFY23 HSGP Agreement. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge FFY23 HSGP (Homeland Security <br />Grant Program) Agreement E24-135. <br /> <br />HANDLING: No handling. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Chief Deputy Darren Higashiyama
