KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: 1/07/2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve Adoption of the Distribution of 2025 Hotel/Motel <br />Tax Fund Grants <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The combined county-wide LTAC Consolidated Work Group met in <br />an open public meeting on November 22, 2024, at Ellensburg City <br />Hall to receive presentations from applicants, and deliberated to reach <br />a final funding recommendation which is to be forwarded to each <br />entity's legislative body for final approval. At the meeting, awards <br />were approved for final 2025 Consolidated Lodging Tax Committee <br />award allocations totaling $468,675.50. However, this was $3,168.82 <br />more than the 13% cumulative contribution from all four <br />municipalities due to a calculation error. The Auditors office <br />consulted the Kittitas County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, who <br />recommended that the county provide the additional $3,168.82 to <br />ensure that all grant awards were fully funded. <br /> <br /> Additionally, in 2025 instead of assigning awards to specific <br />municipalities, the awards and reimbursements will be pooled, and all <br />municipalities will fund a percentage of each award reimbursement <br />based on the percent of their total contribution to the pool (see table <br />below for the County’s reimbursement obligations.) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
