KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA DATE
ACTION REQUESTED:
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
January 7, 2025
Request to approve a Resolution to disband the Road
Standard Review Committee
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works proposed revisions to Title
12 Roads and Bridges as part of the 2023 Comprehensive
Plan Amendment Docket. Previous standards were revised
in 2015, which was not a comprehensive revision to the
code.
Public Works previously identified the need to update the
road standards and in 2017 selected the consulting firm
KPG to assist with the effort. At the June 25, 2018 Public
Works Study Session, a focus group to review and revise
the road standards was proposed and supported by the
BOCC. The group began work and then the work program
was placed on hold due to circumstances related to the
pandemic. Efforts to finalize the road standards update
began again in November 2022 when an informal group
was again appointed.
Proposed updates to County Road Standards were finalized
and updated through the comprehensive plan amendment
docket process in ordinance 2023-010. This completed the
efforts of the Road Standard Review Committee.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution to disband the Road Standard
Review Committee
HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution
LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director
