At this time, we don't have any news to provide
and don't know the impact of the county roads but will keep the board updated.
Update on Springwood & Stone Road property — Sheriff Myers said that Chief Kokjer will be on
top of this and should get legal authorization and a process with respect to access and
recommends working with CDS. As for Stone Road, public use compatible, property line fenced,
no trespassing, parking issues as this needs to be worked on and would recommend from the
board working on a restoration plan for RV park, can't close to the public; right now, open to
public and we don't need problems.
Update on Capital Facilities — Chief Higashiyama gave an update on EOC that the request sent to
State and working with Public Works to change contract to Sheriff's Office and to expedite when
it comes back.
Sheriff Myers asked about the status of the jail front door. Patti said as part of the building it is
part of remodel and will go out to bid.
Update on strategic emergency response for Event Center — Chief Higashiyama meeting with
Kady and looking into other agency plans, last was updated two years ago, as the contact
information for phone and radios change. Sheriff Myers also stated there are areas to work on
and that Chief Higashiyama will gather with the stakeholders and work on those areas.
Flock Camera System - Inspector Whitsett mentioned that yesterday the BOCC had approved the
recommended L&J Grants, the Flock camera system being one. There will be ten camera
deployments and those cameras to be put in play and shared with other agencies. Inspector will
be speaking to Public Works on the camera locations. Sheriff Myers mentioned that he had
really thought about this system and has had discussions on traffic concerns, seen how other
agencies are handling these types of cameras for investigations and solving crimes.
2024-11-06 MINUTES
