KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: October 15, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge a Cross-Jurisdictional <br />Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Alert, Warning, and Notifications Sent <br />Through FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System between Kittitas County <br />911 KITTCOM and Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: This MOU between KITTCOM and Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office <br />allows Alerting Authorities (AA) to establish a backup AA to issue Alert, Warnings, and <br />Notifications (AWN) on their behalf, to their respective communities in the unlikely <br />event the original AA is not able to perform that function. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: This Agreement was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas County <br />Prosecutor’s Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge a Cross-Jurisdictional Memorandum <br />of Understanding Regarding Alert, Warning, and Notifications Sent Through FEMA’s <br />Integrated Public Alert and Warning System between Kittitas County 911 KITTCOM <br />and Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office <br /> <br />HANDLING: None needed. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Chief Deputy Higashiyama
