KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: October 15, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Board of County Commissioners approval for Chairs <br />signature on Change Order No. 1 for the Lower Valley Transfer <br />Station. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Solid Waste went out to bid for the construction of the <br />Lower Valley Transfer Station and received two bids. The contract <br />was awarded to Belsaas and Smith Construction for the Base bid and <br />Alternate bid item No. 2. At that time the county asked the contractor <br />to hold it price on the remaining Alternate bid items for 30 days to <br />allow the county to determine if addition fund was available for the <br />project. <br /> <br /> In working with the Board of County Commissioners and the Finance <br />Department funding was approved for adding in Alternative bid item <br />No. 1 which will add the administration building to the new transfer <br />station site. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Board of County Commissioners, Finance Department and Solid <br />Waste. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Board of County Commissioners approval for Chairs <br />signature on Change Order No. 1. <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Facilities & Waste Operations Director <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
