KITTITAS COUNTY
Board of County Commissioners

AGENDA STAFF REPORT

AGENDA DATE: September 17, 2024

ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct a public hearing to consider the proposed EV
Charging Station Fee.

BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County constructed a parking lot north of the Jail on
the corner of Water and W 6th street.

The parking lot project was required to install a charging station
for every 10 parking spaces or portion thereof. This required
the County to install 7 EV changing spaces. Since the chargers
come as a pair the parking lot contains 8 EV charging stalls.

In working with the City of Ellensburg Utility Department and
the Blink charger manufacturer we have calculated the cost to
charge at the EV Charging station to be $.33/kW.

INTERACTION: Maintenance, City of Ellensburg, and Blink manufacturing

RECOMMENDATION: Recommend the approval of the proposed resolution setting the
fee for the EV Charging stations at $0.33/kW.

HANDLING: Return to Solid Waste

ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Resolution

LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey
