KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />Signature on the First Amendment to the Commercial <br />Building Sublease at Bowers Field. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County entered into a commercial lease agreement <br />on October 18, 2022, with Airport Holdings LLC. The <br />commercial lease is to provide space for the Airport <br />Division of Public Works within the aeronautical facility. <br />Airport Holdings constructed the facility, and the Airport <br />Division of Public Works has been relocating into the <br />facility. This space includes two office spaces and a hangar <br />area for maintenance equipment. This allows staff to have <br />direct access with equipment to the aeronautical area. <br />Modifications to the building were made during design and <br />construction to meet building code. This resulted in a <br />change to the overall area and location being proposed for <br />the Airport Division. A lease amendment to the commercial <br />building sublease is proposed to reflect the actual area <br />within the building being occupied by the Airport Division. <br />The shop area increased and the office space decreased. <br />The amendment proposes to adjust the rental rate per <br />square foot of each to maintain the same rental rate <br />originally agreed upon. <br />Overall lease amount remains the same, and is budgeted <br />within the current year <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on first amendment to the commercial building sublease at <br />Bowers Field. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Lease Amendment <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
