KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: July 16th, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve the agreement between Central <br />Washington University and the Kittitas County Jail, <br />BACKGROUND: The County has received a federal grant from the Department of <br />Justice (DOJ), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to develop and implement an <br />evidence -based medication assisted treatment program (MAT Program). Consistent with <br />the University's instructional, scholarship, public service, and research objectives, and <br />consistent with its status as a non-profit, tax-exempt, educational institution, the <br />University will provide professional services to the County to assist with the evaluation <br />of this MAT Program. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and <br />approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to approve the agreement between Central <br />Washington University and the Kittitas County Jail. <br />HANDLING: Please return 1 original back to KCSO. <br />LEAD STAFF: LT.
