Kittitas County <br />Public Health Department <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />August 6, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves the signature of the Public Health Director on the <br />Grant Administration Amendment 2 between KCHN and KCPHD. (Effective: 09.01.22- <br />08.31.25) <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Kittitas County Health Network was awarded and manages certain Health Resources and <br />Services Administration Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) <br />Implementation Grant for the management of the Grant within the Managers jurisdiction. The <br />amendment increases the funding amount from 123,000.00 to $173.000.00. <br />o The purpose of the Grant is to reduce the morbidity and mortality of substance use <br />disorders, including Opioid Use Disorder in rural communities by strengthening and <br />expanding prevention, treatment, and recovery. <br />o The contract includes increasing community access to Naloxone, conduct HIV and <br />Hepatitis screenings at the syringe services program, and connect syringe service clients <br />with prevention, harm reduction, early intervention, treatment, and other services. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County Prosecutors: Reviewed and approved 07.15.24. <br />Kittitas County Auditors: Reviewed and approved 07.17.24. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves the signature of the Public Health Director on the <br />Grant Administration Amendment 2 between KCHN and KCPHD.
