2024-05-14 MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />HR STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 W 5TH AVE., ROOM 108, ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />TUESDAY 10:00 AM 5/14/2024 <br /> <br />Board Members Present: Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz, Cory Wright <br />Others Present: Greg Zempel, Bryan Elliott, Stephanie Hartung, Christopher Horner, Jeanne Killgore, member of <br />the public <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:01 AM. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 MINUTE TIME LIMIT) <br />Citizen Stephen Mathews presented a letter to the Board expressing his concerns about increased wildfire risks <br />from campfires at Big Horn. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE STAFFING <br />HR Director Killgore summarized a request from the Prosecutor ’s Office to reclassify their Office Worker <br />position to a Legal Assistant I position, as well as provide special wage adjustments to several staff members in <br />their office. Prosecutor Zempel added that the requested changes would be budget-neutral, with funds coming <br />from vacancy savings. The Board approved the request to reclassify the Office Worker position to a Legal <br />Assistant I. They discussed the Prosecutor ’s request to provide special wage adjustments to staff. The Board <br />approved providing wage adjustments that match what staff would receive as part of the wage matrix <br />implementation. The effective date for the special wage adjustments will be 5/01/2024. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH SALARY COMMISSION <br />Director Killgore presented a resolution to establish a salary commission to review the salary for the position of <br />Commissioner. Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Resolution 088 to establish a salary commission. <br />Commissioner Wright seconded the motion. Motion was approved; 3:0. <br />APPROVE BOCC LETTER TO CONFERENCE OF GOVERNMENTS <br />The Board discussed a letter to the COG. Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve the letter to respond <br />formally to COG. Commissioner Wright seconded the motion.
