KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: May 21,2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for June 4,2024, at2:00 <br />pm local time to consider Accepting Title of Real Property <br />BACKGROUND:The Trust for Public Land, a non-profit organization, <br />acquired real property in Kittitas County known as <br />Springwood Ranch. The Washington State Legislature is <br />providing funding for this property in exchange for <br />conveying the property to Kittitas County, the Department <br />of Fish and Wildlife, the Yakama Nation, and the Kittitas <br />Reclamation District for public benefit purposes. The <br />primary public benefit associated with the Springwood <br />Ranch acquisition is to secure the site for a water supply <br />reservoir. The budget proviso stipulates that the portion of <br />Springwood Ranch transferred to Kittitas County for its <br />ownership and management will provide benefits <br />associated with maintaining existing agricultural uses or <br />future uses allowed under current zoning or that provide a <br />public use or benefit. <br />The transfer of property will require Kittitas County to <br />accept title from the Trust for Public Land. <br />INTERACTION:Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION:Set a Public Hearing for June 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM to <br />consider Accepting Title of Real Property. <br />HANDLING:Retum one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS:Notice of Public Hearing; Springwood Ranch Ownership <br />Map <br />Arden Thomas <br />Public Works Water Resource Manager <br />LEAD STAFF:
