KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />2024 AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: May 7, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the request from the Conference of Governments <br />to formally recognize Central Washington University's <br />Institute for Decision Making work program as a future <br />path for economic development in Kittitas County. <br />BACKGROUND: At the April meeting of the Conference of Governments <br />(COG), the body signed a letter requesting the Board of <br />County Commissioners formally recognize Central <br />Washington University's (CWU) Institute for Decision <br />Making work program as a future path for economic <br />development in Kittitas County. The proposed work <br />program provides technical support implementing the <br />Kittitas County Economic Development Strategic Plan. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Grant COG's request to support CWU's economic <br />development proposed work program. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Conference of Governments April 17, 2024, letter <br />requesting support for CWU's proposed economic <br />development work program. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
