KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT FOR PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />DATE: May 7, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve an Ordinance Amending Chapter 1.04 KCC, <br />governing Kittitas County’s Code adoption. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: It was determined through review that the Kittitas County <br />Prosecuting Attorney did not have authority designated in <br />the Code to correct Scrivener’s errors and/or minor <br />inconsistencies in the code, which do not affect the rights <br />of the citizens of Kittitas County. Giving the Prosecutor’s <br />Office this authority will make the process of making <br />minor corrections to the Code more efficient for the <br />County. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Staff members in the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office have <br />worked together to review and update this section of the <br />code. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing to discuss adoption of the proposed <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT: Draft Ordinance with proposed amendments to the <br />code, attached. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Stephanie Hartung, DPA.
