KITTITAS COUNTY
Board of County Commissioners

AGENDA STAFF REPORT

AGENDA DATE: April 2, 2024

ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval for Facilities Directors signature on Service
agreements with Johnson Controls Fire Protection.

BACKGROUND: Kittitas County has had issues with our previous service provider over
the years and has decided it would be in the best interest of the county
to move forward with another service provider. After reviewing the
Washington State Department of Enterprise Services contracts for
services it was determined that Johnson Controls Fire Protection, LP,
would best meet the needs of the County.

Under the State of Washington Contract No: 24223 Johnson Controls
Fire Protection, LP. can provide fire monitoring, inspections and
service for all of the county buildings.

INTERACTION: The Prosecutors’ office has reviewed the Master contract and the
service agreements for each of the buildings.

RECOMMENDATION: Boards approval for the Facilities Director to sign the service
agreements with Johnson Controls Fire Protection, LP.

HANDLING: Original – Clerk of the Board
Copy – Auditor

ATTACHMENTS: Copies of Master contract and service agreement for all county
buildings.

LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Facilities Director
