Cook, Director <br />CC: <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />SUBJECT: <br />MEMORANDUM <br />Kiftitas Gounty Board of County Commissioners <br />Candie Leader, Contracts Specialist <br />Ryan Berge, Maintenance Manager <br />February 13,2024 <br />Yakima River Ganyon Marathon and Half-Marathon <br />After review of the application for the "Yakima River Canyon Marathon and Half- <br />Marathon" to be held on April 6,2024, Public Works would like to clarify that Berry <br />Road, Tjossem Road, Wood House Loop, and the County portion of Canyon Road will <br />not be closed for the duration of the race; and that there will be sufficient amount of <br />traffic control at these intersections. <br />Public Works recommends approving this event with the following conditions below: <br />1. Local advertisement in the Daily Record and physical posting two (2) weeks in <br />advance to inform the traveling public of the upcoming event to give notice to <br />plan an alternate route during the time of the event. <br />2 There will be no closures of County roads and there will be sufficient signage and <br />traffic control at all intersections. <br />Please contact Kittitas County Public Works with any additional questions you may have <br />at 509-962-7523. <br />411 N.
