KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />March 5, 2024 <br />Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the Bid <br />to furnish Asphalt Materials for Calendar Year <br />2024. <br />BACKGROUND: Annually, Kittitas County Public Works solicits <br />bids for the furnishing of Asphalt Materials in <br />accordance with Standard Specifications of the <br />Washington State Department of Transportation. <br />Notice of Call for bids are advertised in the legal <br />newspaper to provide equal opportunity. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Bids were opened on February 22, 2024, at 2:00 <br />p.m. in the Public Works Department. Two bids <br />were received. Public Works proposes awarding to <br />both bidders in order to ensure availability of <br />products for county needs. <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve Resolution to Award the Bid to <br />furnish Asphalt Materials for 2024; Schedules `A' <br />and `B' to Granite Construction Company AND <br />American Rock Products. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Bid Tab <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
