<br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 20, 2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) sign a <br />Resolution allocating $429,506.95 of Hotel/Motel Funds towards the <br />2024 Lodging Tax Fund Grants Program for Special Events and <br />Projects. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Cities of Ellensburg, Roslyn, and Cle Elum along with Kittitas <br />County have an Interlocal Agreement in place to create a consolidated <br />lodging tax grant process for special events and projects. The <br />participating Municipalities have each signed an Amendment to the <br />Interlocal Agreement stating each entity will dedicate 13% of their <br />lodging tax funds to the Consolidated Lodging Tax process. The <br />Consolidated Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Work Group met in <br />an open public meeting on December 1, 2023, and deliberated to <br />reach a final funding recommendation to be forwarded to each <br />entity’s legislative body for final approval. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Consolidated Work Group recommended expending $429,506.95 <br />of lodging tax funding to be designated for special events and <br />projects.
