KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Juvenile Court Services <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 6, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request to approve contract between Chelan County Juvenile Court and Kittitas County <br />Juvenile Court Services for detention services of Kittitas County juveniles. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This contract is the result of changes to RCW 13.32A prohibiting "At -Risk Youth" to be <br />detained in a secure detention facility. The statute allows youth to be detained only at a <br />Secure Crisis Residential Center (SCRC) and Chelan County operates the closest SCRC. <br />This contract allows Kittitas County to access Chelan County Juvenile Detention Center <br />and SCRC per order of the court for cases under RCW 13.32A. <br />INTERACTION: <br />The Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved as to form the contract (Prosecutor <br />Review Number #10384). <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve contract between the Chelan County Juvenile Court and Kittitas County <br />Juvenile Court Services for detention services of Kittitas County juveniles. <br />HANDLING: <br />Request 2 signed originals to be returned to Juvenile Court Services to pursue Chelan <br />County officials signatures and subsequent return of an original fully executed document <br />to the BoCC for County records. <br />ATTACI3MENTS: <br />Attached is three originals of the professional services agreement. <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Katrina Mankus, Juvenile Court Administrator <br />
