SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 10:00 A.M. DECEMBER 4, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.

PUBLIC HEARING 2024 BUDGET AUDITOR
At 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN WRIGHT opened a Public Hearing to consider
adopting the 2024 County Budget.
BRIAN CARLSON, BUDGET & FINANCE DIRECTOR, reviewed a power-point
presentation on the proposed 2024 Budget. He went over the
appropriations by fund in the amount of $134 MM including General
Fund, Road Fund, Flood Control Zone, Public Facilities, ER&R, Solid
Waste, and Other. The actual General Fund if adopted would be in
deficit by $6.75 MM. He went over the next steps including to amend
the 2023 Budget, set Levies, complete a Budget in Brief
presentation, continue development of dashboards, revisit five
“stand-alone” topics (ongoing), final 2023 budget/actual figures
(February 2024), continued revision to 2024 budget (quarterly,
ongoing), and to refine resource-based budgeting method (Jan-June
2024).
THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE
HEARING WAS CLOSED.
RESOLUTION 2023-201 2024 BUDGET AUDITOR
VICE-CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH moved to approve Resolution No. 2023-201,
Adopting the Budget for Kittitas County for the Fiscal Year Ending
December 31, 2024, in the total amount of $134,038,721. COMMISSIONER
OSIADACZ seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
