BOARD OF' COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF'WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION TO FUND COMMUNITY BUILDERS THROUGH l/lOTH OF I"T" MENTAL <br />HEALTH AND CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY TAX <br />RESOLUTIoN No. 202s - e 1> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) established a mental health <br />tax via Kittitas County Ordinance No. 2021-017; and <br />WHEREAS, the proceeds generated from the Mental Health Tax imposed pursuant to RCW <br />82.14.460, are to be to used to fund programs related to chemical dependency, mental health <br />treatment, or therapeutic courts; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County lll0 of lo/o Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax <br />Advisory Board (Board) was established by Resolution 2022-185 and was tasked with <br />developing the goals, objectives, and metrics for the use of funds generated by the mental health <br />and chemical dependency tax as well soliciting and collecting proposals and making <br />recommendations to the BOCC and to serve as the advisory board on matters related to alcohol <br />and substance abuse, mental health; and <br />WHEREAS, in September 2023, the Kittitas County lll0 of l% Mental Health and Chemical <br />Dependency Tax Advisory Board published a Request for Proposals for new or expanded <br />services and programs in Kittitas County to support youth, veterans, the justice involved, and <br />those at high risk of suicide. The Board received eleven responses; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County ll10 of lYo Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax <br />Advisory Board and Kittitas County Board of Health have made recommendations to the BOCC <br />to fund Community Builders to maintain and expand the youth program in Upper Kittitas County <br />for the amount of $250,000 from January I , 2024 to Decembe r 3l , 2025 . <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes funding Community Builders for the <br />amount of $250,000 from January 1,2024 to December 31,2025 with revenue generated by the <br />lll0 of lYo Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax. <br />F.'trl <br />ADOPTED this J' ilay of 20 23 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS UNTY, WASHINGTON <br />C Chair
