BACKGROUND: The Huntzinger Road Safety Improvements Project Phase 1 was selected to receive Federal Funding through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). The grant funding provides the County a cost-effective approach to implement safety improvements such as guardrail, signing and delineation improvements to this corridor. This project is eligible for 100% Federal Funding for all phases authorized prior to April 30, 2026. This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding for the Preliminary Engineering phase of the project. Public Works is preparing to perform the preliminary engineering with County staff, including survey, environmental permitting, and design. INTERACTION: Public Works RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the Huntzinger Road Safety Improvements Phase 1 CRP 318- 23.
