ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Public
Works/Community Development Services Director's
Signature on the Professional Services Contract with
Consolidated Communications, Inc. for Broadband Service
to Thorp and Edgemont in Kittitas County
BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners secured a $3.8
million dollar grant from the Washington State Broadband
Office Spring of 2023. The project develops a fiber to
home network serving the communities of Thorp and
Edgemont. Service providers were solicited through a
Request for Qualifications process in May 2023. Public
Works has recently completed contract negotiations with
Consolidated Communications, Inc., and requests that the
Board of County Commissioners authorize the Director's
signature on the professional services contract.
INTERACTION: Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Public
Works/Community Development Services Director's
signature on the professional services agreement with
Consolidated Communications, Inc.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.

NO.
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
SERVICES DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH CONSOLIDATED COMMUNICATIONS, INC.
WHEREAS: The Washington State Broadband Office did award Kittitas County a
Broadband Grant ($3.8 million) Spring of 2023; and
WHEREAS: Public Works did solicit for qualified service providers through a request for
qualifications process and a selection committee selected Consolidated
Communications, Inc. to negotiate a professional service contract delivering
broadband to the communities of Thorp and Edgemont; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works/Community Development Services Director has
successfully completed contract negotiations with Consolidated
Communications, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners, after due
consideration, does hereby authorize the Public Works/Community Development Services
Director to sign a professional service agreement with Consolidated Communications, Inc.
providing broadband service to the communities of Thorp and Edgemont in the amount of
$3,800,000.
