STAFF REPORT
DATE: December 5, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Set a Public Hearing on 12/19/23 at 2:00 p.m. on a
Resolution to Submit a Proposition to the Voters of Kittitas
County concerning a sales and use tax to fund costs
associated with KITTCOM’s Emergency Communication
Systems and Facilities P ursuant to RCW 82.14.420.
BACKGROUND: RCW 82.14.420 authorizes county legislative authorities to
adopt a Resolution providing for the submission of a
proposal to county voters for the imposition of a sales and
use tax up to two-t enths of one percent (0.2.%) for
financing, design, acquisition, construction, equipping,
operating, maintaining, remodeling, repairing, re-
equipping, and improvement of countywide emergency
communication systems and facilities
INTERACTION: The Prosecutor’s Office was directed to draft the proposed
draft resolution on behalf of KITTCOM .
RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing for 12/19/23 at 2:00 p.m..
