COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. NOVEMBER 27, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk
of the Board; Bryan Elliott, Auditor.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened the Office Administration
Meeting.
CITIZEN COMMENT – N/A
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending November 22, 2023 (due to Thanksgiving holiday).
DISCUSSION BOCC VEHICLE MOTOR POOL AUDITOR
Bryan Elliott, Auditor presented a project he had been working on
with regard to Fleet Management. He discussed with the Board the
workgroup and what they were tasked with as well as their
recommendation. He reviewed the Departments that are in favor and
those who are not and why. He asked the Board if they were willing
to join in. The Board stated that they needed more time to digest it
all but thanked him for the work. They stated there are some areas
of concern and they would like a better understanding of Departments
that are wanting to opt out. They stated that they would like to re-
visit the topic during the Sheriff’s follow up budget meeting on
Wednesday November 29th at 9:00 a.m.
LETTER CLE ELUM RIDGE LG LANDSCAPE PROJ. COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve and authorize Board
signature on a letter of support regarding the Cle Elum Ridge Large
Landscape Forest legacy Project as presented. Commissioner Osiadacz
seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
MOU KC/TNC/KCT/DNR – CHAIR SIGNATURE COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve Chairman Wrights electronic
signature on an MOU between Kittitas County, DNR, The Nature
Conservancy & Kittitas Conservation Trust, as presented.
Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion Carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined that for the week of November 27, 2023, they
would post on their Facebook page the following: Proclamations for
Declaring November 27, 2023, as "Ellensburg High School Boys Cross
Country Team Day" in Kittitas County for being the 2023 WIAA 2A
Academic State Champions for Fall 2023; A Proclamation Declaring
November 28, 2023, as "Cle Elum-Roslyn High School Girls Soccer Team
Day" in Kittitas County for being the WIAA 2B Academic State
Champions for Fall 2023; and a Certificate of Appreciation to
Sharrie McPherson for her years of service to Kittitas County from
3/1/2002 – 11/30/2023.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2023
were determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin
meeting earlier on and they will continue to provide updates at
future meetings.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
UPDATES BOCC/WHITE BOARDS COMMISSIONERS
The Board reviewed their updates/edits to each of their white
boards.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
