KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROCLAMATION <br />VETERANS DAY <br />WHEREAS: in 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower, first proclaimed <br />November 11 as Veterans Duy, calling on Americans to solemnly remember <br />the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and <br />on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom; and <br />WHEREAS, President Eisenhower asked Americans to commit ourselves to <br />the task of promoting peace so that our Veterans' efforts shall not have been <br />in vain; and <br />WHEREAS, the men and women of our armed forces continue to be an <br />inspiration to all of us through their demonstration of courage, leadership <br />and commitment in service to our community and country; and <br />WHEREAS, the greatest acknowledgement of our freedom is to honor our <br />armed forces veterans who have sacrificed, and in many instances, paid the <br />ultimate price for our freedom; and <br />NOW' THEREFORE, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners proudly joins <br />the rest of our nation to salute and give special honor and recognition to the <br />men and women who served us in our armed forces and encourages all <br />citizens to promote peace. <br />Dated this 7th day of November 2023. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BO FCO SIONERS <br />chsmi Vice-Chairman <br />t <br />Ir.n <br />:-l <br />Julie o rsvik, Clerk of the Board <br />ry <br />cz, Commissioner
