Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the bid
to furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2024.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works went out to bid for
the furnishing of specific snow & ice control
products in accordance with specifications.
Bids were opened on October 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
in the Public Works Department and four (4) bids
were received. Public Works recommends
awarding the bid to three (3) Vendors as described
in said Bid Tab attached.
To ensure product availability for Item No. 2 —
Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride,
Public Works is recommending awarding to two
Vendors this season.
Additionally, in the 2023 Snow and Ice Control
Bids a Fuel Escalation clause was added for
clarification of unstable fuel prices. This clause has
been included in this bid and contract award as well.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve a Resolution to Award the bid to
furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2024.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

RESOLUTION NO. 2023 -
TO AWARD THE BID TO FURNISH SNOW & ICE CONTROL PRODUCTS FOR 2024 AND
AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY ENGINEER TO SIGN CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was advertised for Snow and Ice Control Products for 2024 on
October 5, 2023, and October 12, 2023; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on October 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the office of Kittitas
County Public Works and four (4) bids were received; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works Department recommends that the responsible bid of GMCO
Corporation for Item 41 Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium Chloride and for Item #3
RoadSaver — Soil Stabilizer; and the responsible bid of Pioneer Commodities and Bob
Rankin LLC for Item 42 Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride be accepted for
Snow & Ice Control Products for 2024; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest
of the public, does hereby award the bid for 2024 Snow & Ice Control Products to GMCO Corporation
for Item 41 Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium Chloride and for Item #3 RoadSaver— Soil Stabilizer;
and the responsible bid of Pioneer Commodities and Bob Rankin LLC for Item #2 Non -Corrosion
Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride to ensure availability of product, upon such terms and conditions as
specified in the Proposal submitted by said bidder(s); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer is authorized to sign the contract documents
upon such terms and conditions specified in the Proposal submitted by said bidder(s).
