2023-10-19 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />THURSDAY 9:00 A.M. OCTOBER 19, 2023 <br /> <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Commissioner <br />Laura Osiadacz. Excused: Chairman Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator; Amy McGuffin, Chief <br />Executive Officer - Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce; David <br />Chamberlin, Chamber Board Member. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:00 a.m. Vice-Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to <br />receive a quarterly update from the Kittitas County Chamber of <br />Commerce CEO/ADO. <br /> <br />Amy McGuffin, Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive <br />Officer, reviewed quarterly reports for recruiting and marketing <br />activities; business retention and expansion activities; business <br />assistance including start-ups; as well as readiness and <br />capacity/asset building. She reviewed the revised Chamber Mission <br />statement and their membership analytics to date noting they have as <br />of September. There are 82 new businesses with the Chamber and that <br />is the most the Chamber has had, noting that her predecessor’s <br />highest recruitment was in the 40’s. Ms. McGuffin reviewed the <br />visitor center analytics for July, August and September. <br /> <br />She reviewed quarterly highlights stating that the Chamber was able <br />to push out $393,000., into small businesses this quarter. She <br />stated that thanks to the CDBG – CERB Grant Funding it has allowed <br />them to retain Small Business Development Center (SBDC)technical <br />assistance and the information they get from them has proven to be <br />invaluable. <br /> <br />She shared with the Board that the loss of business or non-starters <br />they have had shared with them when touring sites is continually <br />down, due to our cost of power. <br /> <br />Meeting concluded at 9:53 a.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br />
