RESOLUTION No. 2023-_____
TO AUTHORIZE THE RENAMING AND REPURPOSING OF THE COMPUTER REPLACEMENT INTERNAL
SERVICE FUND TO THE ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY FUND
WHEREAS, Ki tas County established Fund 517 as the Computer Replacement Internal Service
(CRIS) Fund via Resolu on No. 2017-010 for the purpose of funding the scheduled
worksta on desktop, laptop, and monitor replacements, countywide, over the
an cipated life of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, The Ki tas County Finance Division of the Auditor’s Office and the Informa on
Technology Department have collaborated in a comprehensive assessment of internal
technology-related procurement, budge ng, and analysis prac ces; and
WHEREAS, The Ki tas County Finance Division of the Auditor’s Office and the Informa on
Technology Department jointly propose renaming Fund 517 from “Computer
Replacement Internal Service Fund” to “Enterprise Technology Fund” and repurposing
it to encompass all technology-related purchases which will simplify the technology
procurement process and related accoun ng, allowing for improved repor ng,
analysis, and forecas ng;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The Ki tas County Board of County Commissioners hereby rescinds
Resolu on No. 2017-010 and renames Fund 517 as the “Enterprise Technology Fund” which shall be
stewarded by the IT Department and authorizes the Ki tas County Auditor to make all necessary
altera ons to the County’s chart of accounts, effec ve January 1, 2024.
NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Ki tas County Board of County Commissioners recognizes that
revisions to exis ng technology policies and a new Enterprise Technology Fund Policy, which will provide
for the mechanisms used to establish the Enterprise Technology Fund’s budget as well as the procedures
for technology procurement, will be brought forth for approval before December 31, 2023.
