SHERIFF'S STUDY SESSION - SPECIAL MINUTES
COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG
Regular Meeting
WEDNESDAY 1 11:00 AM September 6, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright and Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith.
Others: Sheriff Clay Myers, Patti Stacey; Maintenance Director and Mark Cook; Public Works Director.
Citizen Comments: None
Update on EOC: Mark Cook provided an update on the EOC/SAR Facility Project: Homeland Grant
completed. Murray Grant not appropriated, site design has been billed, Public Works submission of
Building permit and Environmental Permit.
Discussion on I or 3 Phase Transformer. All support 3-Phase for project. Looking to October for
permitting of land clearing.
Pending: Well -Head Easement with City of Cie-Elum.
Public Works to manage project to awarding of build contract, then transfer to Building/Maintenance
Department.
Update on old SAR Building: Patti provided an update on the old SAR Building; will place on Surplus
sale.
Request to Approve a Resolution fixing base salaries of exempt command staff employees of the
Kittitas County Sheriffs Office in relationship to employees of represented bargaining unit
employees of the Sheriffs Office, superseding, and replacing Resolution 2022-125 — Sheriff Myers
requested approval of an updated Resolution setting wages for the Sheriff's Command Staff. Action
taken: Approval by Board.
Other Business: Sheriff Myers provided an update on increased cost of patrol vehicles, 1 OK base cost,
no change to delivery delays. Updated the Board on the status of the boat that is in Idaho and ready for
pick up.
