AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: September 5th, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approve a
Resolution Authorizing Execution of an Internal Contract to allocate
$206,500 (two-hundred and six thousand, five-hundred dollars) in
operational costs of LTAC Funding and sign the 2023 Lodging Tax
Services Agreements for Operations with Kittitas Valley Event
Center.
BACKGROUND: There are expenses accrued through-out the year by the Kittitas
Valley Event Center (KVEC) that directly fall under Lodging Tax.
KVEC accrues expenses maintaining the Event Center which is used
for many events funded by Lodging Tax Funds. This agreement
enables Lodging Tax funds to be spent under the appropriate
categories.
INTERACTION: The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met on June 14th, 2023, and
voted unanimously to approve $200,000 for labor costs and $6,500
for the fair/rodeo bus costs for a total of $206,500 in operational
costs. The Contract was approved from the Prosecutor’s Office on
August 16th, 2023. SR#50358
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing Execution of Internal Contracts
for Award of LTAC Funding and sign the 2023 Lodging Tax Services
Agreements for Operations with Kittitas Valley Event Center.
