08/07/2023 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 10:00 A.M. AUGUST 7, 2023 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mark Cook, Public <br />Works/CDS Director; and Joe Poire, JRP Integrated Solutions. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING BROADBAND UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to receive a Broadband <br />update from Joe Poire, JRP Integrated Solutions. <br /> <br />Joe Poire, JRP Integrated Solutions, provided an update to the Board <br />of County Commissioners on the PWB Thorp/Edgemont Contract award. <br />Mark Cook, Public Works/CDS Director, would be negotiating the <br />Contract with Consolidated and it will be submitted at a future <br />Agenda for Board consideration. Doug Fessler, IT Director and Patti <br />Stacey, Facilities & Waste Operations Director, both reviewed the <br />applications and suggested having better questions with more <br />specific information to assist them in scoring. Mr. Poire said it <br />was subjective and would ask to keep the same people judging in the <br />future for consistency. <br /> <br />Joe Poire, JRP Integrated Solutions, reviewed the next steps for the <br />Kittitas County BEAD preparation. He said the Digital Equity project <br />was finished and that was approximately 30% of the BEAD money. He <br />reviewed challenges and said Spokane County was actually the largest <br />County in Washington who have the most underserved households. The <br />BAT team will be setting up a plan to hold an Open House.
