<br /> <br />Public Health Study Session <br />July 26, 2023 <br />10:00 a.m. <br />Commissioner’s Conference Room <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Attendees: <br />Laura Osiadacz, Cory Wright, Chelsey Loeffers, Candi Blackford, Jesse Cox, Arden Thomas <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:04 am <br /> <br />Citizen Comment (1 minute time limit) <br />There were no members of the public present. <br /> <br />Department Business <br />Review of Board of Health Recruitment Materials and Process <br />Chelsey Loeffers reviewed the Board of Health member recruitment materials. Ms. Loeffers discussed <br />getting BOHAC together for interview and board recommendation. If for some reason BOHAC is unable <br />to get together the board recommended putting an agenda item on the BOH agenda for an extension. <br /> <br />Review and approve Communications Coordinator Position <br />Chelsey Loeffers presented the new Communications Coordinator Position staff report and job <br />description to the board. Ms. Loeffers noted that the position will be funded 100% by new FPHS funding. <br />The board approved the position by majority vote, but noted that If for some reason the funding goes <br />away that there will need to be discussions about the future of this position. <br /> <br />Board of Health Feedback Discussion <br />Chelsey Loeffers discussed options for the August BOH and the board discussed agenda items. It was <br />decided that the health department will email out department budget documents to the board for <br />review and discuss at September BOH. This will allow for time for the CHIP update and bylaws discussion <br />that have been put off for the last couple of months. <br /> <br />Other <br />Water System Update <br />Jesse Cox and Arden Thomas informed the Board of some water systems that the state is capping <br />connections to water due to water availability discussions with the Yakima Tribe. <br />Ski Tur was originally approved for 78 connections and now capped at 39. <br />Starwater was originally approved for 44 connections and now capped at 6.
